As regards the remote research, the General Archive Not carries out research on behalf of third parties, i.e. it does not replace scholars and researchers in identifying and evaluating specific information and individual documents, but also guarantees access and consultation to the archival and bibliographic material stored there, directing the researcher to collections and series that may prove relevant to the research area; the staff may also direct the scholar to other more relevant conservation institutions.
Responsibility for the research remains with the scholar, who is required to carry out his or her work independently, in person or by using the paid photocopying service.
