The Carmelite General Library
The Carmelite General Library (BiGOC), located in Rome at Via Sforza Pallavicini 10, at the Sant'Alberto International Center, was created through the merger of the General Library and the Carmelite Library. The Library belongs to the General Curia of the Carmelite Order and is part of the Istitutum Carmelitanum.
To make its consultation service effective, the Carmelitana General Library relies on the support of the UNBC and the Information Technology Service of the Italian Episcopal Conference through the use of the collective catalogue and the CEI-Bib software.
Among the objectives of the Library, aimed at the knowledge and valorization of its heritage, there are the opening to users external to the Institute, the participation in the days of valorization of the cultural heritage promoted by the specific CEI Office, the assignment of scholarships for cataloguing or bibliographic research projects, events to publicize the publications especially in re carmelitana.
